A great employee experience leads to a highly engaged workforce, which in turn leads to better business performance. Good business performance allows further investment into the employee experience and the virtuous cycle continues.

The opposite is also true. A sustained period of poor business performance tends to erode the employee experience, decreasing engagement, which in turn negatively affects business performance, turning the cycle from virtuous to vicious.
